Supporting Learning and Development

Group Talent Development are pleased to provide a preview of the Group-wide initiatives planned for the remainder of 2023. Firstly though, a re-cap of activity from Q3 and the Academy highlights.

Compliance training this quarter focused on workplace ethics, including bias and ethics, to ensure we create an environment where all employees feel accepted and understand their ethical responsibilities. There was also a strong focus on cybersecurity as reminder to protect ourselves and our devices. Completion rates have been encouragingly high, but we should all remember we are accountable for ensuring our Compliance training is accomplished.

In non-mandatory learning, the IHS Academy now has over 11,500 courses and this quarter, the following proved most popular.

  • 3 Tips to Boost your Confidence | Amy Adkins – three easy tips to boost your confidence, in uncertain circumstances.
  • PDPs and Mid-year Reviews – support documents for employees and line managers about how to complete the annual PDP and performance review processes. Health, Safety and Environment – Safety at IHS, IHS HSSE testimonials.
  • Asset Movement Processes – this course outlines all the processes employed to move assets in IHS. This course is for HOOs, RTOS, Project Managers, FSEs, PMO, Rollout and Warehouse Operations.
  • Leadership: Practical Leadership Skills – master leadership skills and leadership techniques with this highly practical advice and training.

Across the Group, we are increasingly focused on health, safety and environmental issues and are including HSSE courses for our Q4 mandatory Compliance. This is in addition to our Anti-bribery and Corruption training which should help us all become better aware of bribery and corruption scenarios and how to respond to them.

The end of the year is fast approaching which means we need to start thinking about closing off 2022 Annual Performance Reviews in D365 and PDPs in the IHS Academy.

Performance conversations are an important part of the end of year review. Individuals and line managers should now start scheduling meetings to review 2022 goals, PDP completions and initiate discussions for 2023 goals. The deadline for completing performance reviews in D365 and PDP’s is Friday, December 16 – this includes input and approval from line managers.

Please note there is a 5% weighted goal for PDP completion and an additional 5% for Compliance training completion (including those issued in Q4).

Coming Soon – New Mentoring Opportunities

As you start thinking about your goals and development needs for next year, we’re excited to announce that mentoring will be coming back to IHS. Further information on the relaunch of the Women in IHS Network (WIIN) mentoring program, along with two new programs for 2023 will be in your inboxes shortly!

Mentoring is a fantastic opportunity to ‘raise your game’ by building on your competences, confidence, and networks, whether you are a mentee, mentor or both. For our future mentors, remember this is also a chance for you to build relationships, give back to the internal IHS community and support colleagues’ on-going development.
