IHS Rwanda Partners with MTN Rwanda and RTB for School Digitalization Initiative
IHS Rwanda has partnered with MTN Rwanda and the Rwanda Technical and Vocational Education and Training Board (RTB) to help digitalize schools. Both IHS Rwanda and MTN have committed to buy and donate 200 laptops to RTB which will be distributed to 10 schools in the local region. MTN will also provide internet connection for one year to five schools. The laptops will be handed to the schools within the month and support children’s ICT education.
Leadership Retreat for IHS Rwanda
This quarter, IHS Rwanda hosted their one-day leadership retreat at the Serena Hotel in Kigali. The event brought together 28 members of the IHS Rwanda Executive Committee and leadership team. The group held discussions on how to help shape the IHS Rwanda team culture, reviewed their brand as leaders and effective execution for team performance. Managers made recommendations and commitments that will be shared in a report by the IHS Rwanda HR team.
IHS Rwanda Donates Essential Items to the Shenge Children's Organization
IHS Rwanda organized a donation drive with employees collecting essential items from their homes to donate to the Shenge Children’s Organization, home to 66 children with disabilities. Items collected included clothes, toys, books, shoes, and milk. 30 IHS Rwanda employees participated with 10 visiting the organization to donate the items.
IHS Rwanda Blood Donation Drive
IHS Rwanda employees participated in a blood drive donation in partnership with the Rwanda Biomedical Center. 15 employees from the IHS Rwanda Kigali office donated blood and shared a team lunch afterwards. This was their first blood drive donation and IHS Rwanda are keen to raise awareness in both the IHS office and local community on the importance of blood donation.
IHS Rwanda Delivers Generator Recycling Program
As part of the annual generator donation program, IHS Rwanda donated four generators to two health centers and two schools. The two generators donated to schools will benefit 2,989 students and 132 teachers, while the two generators donated to health centers will serve 56,276 patients on annual basis and 55 staff.
Sponsoring the African Peering and Interconnection Forum Gala Dinner
In partnership with the Rwanda Internet Community and Technology Alliance, IHS Rwanda sponsored the African Peering and Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) 2022. It was held as a hybrid event, with 364 participants present in Rwanda, and 267 online. The event focused on internet interconnection dynamics, content distribution, and transit obstacles at local and regional levels.
AfPIF aims to promote the development of national and cross border interconnection and offers the African technical community a unique opportunity to showcase interconnection challenges and opportunities.
